2012 Francophone Film Festival starts March 24

The Alliance française de la Jamaïque, in association with the Diplomatic Missions of Belgium, Canada, France and Senegal, presents the 2012 edition of the Francophone Film Festival in Jamaica to be held March 24 – April 4, 2012.
For two weeks, the best of French, Belgian, Senegalese, Haitian and Canadian cinema will be on show at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston. The Jamaican public, movie enthusiasts and lovers of cultural diversity in particular, will be treated to a different kind of cinema, completely free of cost.
Movies will be held every Wednesday and Saturday during the period. There will be one show on Wednesdays at 7p.m. and two on Saturdays at 7p.m and at 9p.m. All movies are subtitled in English.
The dates of the event are significant as March 20-27 is celebrated internationally as French language week and March 20 is the International Day of the Francophonie1. Join us as we celebrate the French language and Francophone culture in Jamaica during the Francophone Film Festival.
This event promises to be as enlightening as it is entertaining.
