The National Housing Trust on Sunday, June 10 advertised 841 housing solutions in Longville Park Phase III, of which 168 solutions are specially subsidised for contributors earning between minimum wage and $10,000 weekly. Qualified contributors may submit their applications at the nearest NHT office between Monday, June 18 and Friday, June 22, 2012.
The solutions on offer at Longville Park Phase III are 300 two-bedroom units, 173 one-bedroom units, 140 studios and 228 serviced lots. The prices for the solutions vary according to size and elevation. Therefore, the prices for serviced lots range from $1.5 million to $3 million, studio units from $3.2 million to $4.2 million, 1-bedroon units from $4.9 million to $5.6 million and 2-bedroom units $6.7 million to $7.3 million. Except for serviced lots, the subsidies reduce the regular prices by a minimum of $300,000. Serviced lots are sold at the regular price; however, NHT will offer a grant to assist with construction.
Longville Park is located just outside Freetown in Clarendon and is second only to Greater Portmore in terms of large scale development in Jamaica. The development welcomed its first set of residents in 1993 and has blossomed into a vibrant community. Longville Park has an active citizens’ association and over ten active clubs involved in various sports, environmental activities, theatre, culture and health promotion. Among their achievements, Longville Park won the 2007/2008 NHT Best Schemes competition, and with funds they obtained from the National Health Fund, residents built a jogging trail and a multipurpose court for exercise and sporting activities.
Application forms for Longville Park Phase III are available at the nearest NHT office.
