Susan Shirley will be presenting her eighth one-person exhibition at Harmony Hall, Ocho Rios on Sunday, March 4. Opening remarks will be made at 12 noon by Aloun Ndombet-Assamba, Attorney-at-Law & Mediator, former Minister of Tourism, Entertainment & Culture and Host of “TalkingPoint Assambalive” on Newstalk93fm.
Born in Michigan, Susan met her Jamaican husband Greg at Michigan State University, and they returned to Jamaica in 1976. After teaching art at Alpha Academy for several years, she left to concentrate on her own artistic development and raising their children. Over the years, her meticulously executed watercolours have earned her an international collectorship and critical acclaim.
Openings at Harmony Hall have recently been enhanced by the presence of some of Jamaica’s leading artisans in the garden. Similarly, the excellent and reasonably priced buffet prepared by chef Pierluigi Ricci in Toscanini’s authentic Italian restaurant downstairs has become an added attraction for which reservations are strongly recommended. The exhibition will continue until April 5th and can be viewed between 10 a.m.- 5.30 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
