Ants, ants and all these duck ants.. any Jamaican herbs

QUESTION: Dear Jamaica Herbalist,
You would not believe the problem I am having with my new house. Duck ants taking over my house in Eltham Park. I went away to return and find an army of duck ants trooping all over. Do you have any immediate remedy?

RESPONSE: Dear Jackie Sullivan,
Cornmeal or grits is the best I know to chase away duck ants as they are called in Jamaica. Simply sprinkle anywhere you find them and on the grounds outside. There are also pesticides that you can put in holes dug in the ground around your house afterwards. However as you need something natural, try working with the cornmeal for a while and get back to me in two weeks by email.
