The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC) Jamaica Visual Arts Competition and Exhibition will host its 2019 Youth Edition Award Ceremony and Exhibition Launch at the Jamaica Conference Centre, Port Royal Street, Downtown Kingston on Sunday, November 24, 2019.
This year marks the first staging of the Youth Edition of the Competition and Exhibition. Art pieces will be judged in categories namely: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Collage, Textiles & Fibre Arts, Photography and Sculpture/Assemblage.
The competition and exhibition serve as launching pads for the careers of a number of Jamaica’s artists, enrich the community of local practitioners with new talent and provide artists with access to the local and international public.
Public Voting for the Viewers’ Vote Prize will take place on JCDC’s Facebook page on November 24, 2019 – January 31, 2020. The artwork with the most votes will receive a Tablet and a trophy after the close of the show.
