EDITORIAL: Why are people of mixed race labelled BLACK?

Jamaican-businessman, a yellow-brown skinned mixed with chinese, negro and God knows what else recently posed the question “s there an ethical obligation for persons of mixed race to identify as black?” on facebook.
For years I, almost looking yellow, then a tad orange, being Mixed up myself, or as I prefer – a natural blend of races mused on this question.
Although I have Negro in my blood, I simply hated the term ‘being black’ more especially after going to America and seeing how ‘the blacks’ viewed themselves – they even operated as downtrodden farts, brainless who needed somebody else, anybody to give them an identity. For the record, I think white, and members of other races fewer times act like brainless farts too.
Another facebook friend of both Chen and myself added his comment “On the contrary, they have a golden opportunity to be raceless, showing us how to live a life where race is of no consequence. But that is a tall order for any mixed person who lives in a world that will see him or her denying their blackness. Big up the brave ones.”

After reading the article myself, I couldn’t have agreed with his main points more, for the most part.
The referenced article is all about people who are ‘black’ being abused or intimidated simply because someone didnt think their natural parent (s) could be white.
I am not raceless, but I understand where he is coming from.. at times we seem -unidentifiable’ and identity is necessary in a world of a million faces. Hence the numbering system that will form a major part of that ‘antichrist system’
Ahh well, can their be a race called ‘natural blend or simply brown. I love the brown, it has hues like any other, but at least one is aware that its a race of many. Indians have hues, more than any other race.
Blacks, only inherit hues under it’s broad term resulting from the input of other races even white which too has it’s hues, tones of variety or whatever.
Let’s be responsible… is being a negro all that bad, that they must assume the bad of everything. I mean the first time anyone is referred to or thought black, it becomes all about history – slavery, crime.
This is why some people EXCEPT me run from the label Black. But I run from other labels too – I a not chinese nor indian or a Jamaican white.. I am a natural blend – brown if you please. WELL THEN.. about time to turn things around.
Is there anyone who will trigger enough action to let persons realise that the bad blacks are the minority.. that is negro wise.
Why could it be Obama, or then again I’ve heard people say the good in him belongs to the white in him. BLAH BLAH!

I am intelligent not because of being white, negro, chinese, or indian, italian etc. but I am created with intelligence.
Truth is the NEGRO has the strongest intelligence, but continue to apply themselves less than any other race.
Question how is it that Blacks and Africans come from the same nation… or is there a silent zone in the world called Black I need to travel to? The theory we have allowed has gone too far being illogical as it is. If you have even a quota of Negro, you are Black even being 75% chinese. There was a time anyone who was not lily white like spanish, chinese, italians and jews even were considered black, but as more races stand out.. the label is now placed on anyone with even the smallest percentage of Negro. No matter the percentage of other races influencing his veins. Then the characteristic labeling follows.
Here’s the weirdo-ness, Chinese come from China.. English come from England but when it comes to America.. its black American or Indian-American. Who died and made US so?
In every other part you’re just that – danish, English, European, African.. I dont even see Africa splitting into White African or Black African, as in Afro-African. Again Who died and gave US these powers to continue encouraging segregation by deeming people Afro-American and the lot?
Jew-German is just that? Black, White, Pink, Yellow – Just!
Negroes come from Africa.. and anyone with a mixture or dare I say blend should be labelled brown or natural blend.
The word mixture indicates mix.. which may not be total, but blend says it — a complete mixing out. Then in Blends you do not know the ingredients unless told do ya! Wonder if Obama will be the president to change this ‘statute’ – shouldn’t cost much to change documents in a world of recycled paper. Power to all humanity – each race as relevant and crazy as the next.
