Fare thee well Donald Oliver

On every day of this week alone, I added at least one more person whom I personally knew in a more-than-an-acquaintance capacity that died.
It has been a week of sorrow with so many dying left, right, centre, not from covid vaccine – but murder, sudden risk death and expired lifetime…

The latest being Morvine Thompson Palmer. Then there is Anthony ‘Tony’ Lindo.

It was sorrowful, but at the same time peaceful and celebratory yesterday at Donald Oliver’s funeral.

My heart was raised with love, pride and joy at the celebration of Donald Oliver’s life.. He was a product of the duo team “Rough and Tough”- My MOM, Patricia Brown Taylor aka Aunty Pat, with Marvourneen Griffiths ‘Aunty Marva’. They invested so much and personally got back so little.

Sure there was a lot of wrongs and pain as in any organisation – lets face it. Truth is the Apostolic Church of Jamaica (ACJ) Bethel Temple location turned out some real universe class leaders, because of the then leadership.

This is undeniable – Khandi Crooks, Joseph Patterson, Mark Foga, andre Crooks to name a few.

I can tell you DONALD AND NORETTA OLIVER and that entire family truly reflected lessons learnt in a real way.. not just acknowledgement or a thank you but they carry on the legacy of my mom who died and the vision of Aunt Marva who is still alive after somewhat mothering a great deal of us the best she could.

So many persons were fed spiritually and physically at my mom’s hands .. they got skills they got guidance BUT ONLY A SELECT FEW expressed thanks with reciprocating what was invested in them. Most of them just lived, improved themselves and even dared to look down on me who was sacrificed FOR THEIR GOOD And ADVANCEMENT… But for stalwarts like Donald.. it pulls undying love and respect from me .. You speak volumes from the grave and so far with the gems you left behind.. you’ll be speaking for a long time…

I started a new journey yesterday. I look forward to attending real Apostolic Church of Jamaica family funerals, especially from Bethel Temple.
