IDB calls for contemporary Jamaican Art for US exhibition

The Cultural Center of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) announces an open call for an exhibition of contemporary Jamaican art to take place in Washington, DC (USA) between October and November of 2010 at the IDB Cultural Center Gallery, in Washington, D.C.
All Jamaican artists living in Jamaica or elsewhere are invited to submit their portfolios. A bi-lingual catalog in Spanish and English will be published with all the entries selected and biographies of the winning artists.
The objective of the open call is to survey the current artistic scene in Jamaica, and whatever expressions other Jamaican artists living outside Jamaica may be contributing to the spectrum of contemporary art in the Americas.

Selection criteria of the artwork intended for the exhibit

A committee comprising experts in the field of art will select the artists and their work for the exhibition. The decision of the committee will be final. The selection criteria of the competition will be defined by the art
