Music is our religion as Jamaicans. As Irie FM celebrates 35 years as a radio station immersing listeners in the reggae culture of Jamaica, Three foundation artistes received national honour as the 2025 Reggae Icons. On August 6th 2025 at the Grand Gala held National Stadium Jamaica’s Prime minister named and awarded three outstanding artistes as 2025 Reggae Icons.
Leroy Sibblis serenaded the crowd with sultry performance and the women swayed.
Capleton lit the stage with his high energy and spiritual encouragements. It was Beres Hammond however who had the crowd rocking more than Far Way.
Beres Hugh Hammond effortlessly commanded utmost respect transforming the entire stadium as a national choir with every note he raised. There was hardly no space for him to do a solo performance as in true iconic style, the vocals of the audience were pulled to sing all hit songs verbatim raised by Hammond.
