Jamaica’s Chris Martin inks Japan deal


Christopher Martin has steadily been building his musical catalogue, and his performances speaks volumes, as to his potential as a true dancehall/reggae superstar. This position is to be solidified with his sophomore album distribution deal with ‘ROCKERS ISLAND’ based in JAPAN.

The deal which was finalised a few weeks ago will show case an amasing compilation of music, which Japanese fans will love. The album which is yet to be titled will be featuring eighteen tracks, comprising of both released and unreleased singles. The album aimed at the Japanese market will feature collaboration with Busy Signal, Cecile and Shaggy, just to name a few.

Christopher sees this deal as a start to a very productive year, as he is set to complete his tertiary studies this fall. He will be embarking on a promotional tour this summer to Japan, as well as hoping to confirm pending invitations from several North & South American states, the Caribbean and Africa, where his music has begun to take on a life of its own in countries such as, Nairobi and Kenya.

With videos namely -‘Real Friends’ ft D-Major and Agent Sasco, ‘Vibe Is Right’ – Street Bullies Medley, which has topped several charts, as well as new video ‘Dem Love Me’- Kamera Trick Medley, and soon to be released ‘Nuh Fit Mi’ – on the Brainstorm Riddim. In addition to those videos, Christopher has recently released several new singles including ‘Come Where You Going’- Mosiah Muzik Records, ‘Wine Pon Mi’ ft Cecile – Jus Easy Production, ‘Have a Girl’ – Scikron Entertainment/Big Yard Label and ‘To The Top’ with Gentleman for his recently released album. With all these exciting projects in the works, Christopher is quite excited about the prospect of this year.
