To the natural man
I cant explain
The wonders of God
on my terrain
I knelt in prayer
but not for long
I got up to play
But he played my song
My heart was heavy
My eyes were sad
Persecution
to the right
Injustice to the left
I wondered if I should wonder
If good exists
But never once doubting my God
was sovereign still
I looked at nature
then thought it through
My God the Creator
keeps me alive
My God the Creator
is my inspiration
To rise
To overcome
to stand
To smile
To laugh
To play
Despite it all
Man and His unfair games
Despite it all
The dark shadows descending
Temptations came
To curse at God
To hate those ‘friends’
To kill all enemies
Yet never once I yielded
And in one brief moment
Unplanned, unexpected
No fanfare, no anticipation
Only as designed and ordered by God
A call came,
then a touch
then a smile
then joy of friends
– blessings in abundance
God I cant deny you
You kept me strong
You kept me focused
You kept me alive, sane
To see it all
A cause to say — Thank you God
For creating me!
God I cant deny you
