The saying ‘Tief nuh like sih tief carry lang bag goes for both thieves and ‘goodas.’ Plain and simple it is a common aspect of our culture to not like to see others achieve anything WE ARE NOT.
This Jamaican proverb and it’s meaning, needs to be highlighted somehow, as something to be overcome. It’s not promoting theft – but the message is clear whether it was an observation on te habits of thieves or not.
Some persons prosper before, quicker and further than some and Jamaicans need to realise that.
If we develop team spirit then that person should reasonably turn around and assist his fellow Jamaican.
