The September leg of the CIBC First Caribbean Suite Jamaica exhibition opened on Friday September 23, 2011. The pieces drew much interest from the patrons of the bank and a sale for one of E. Dain McLeod’s Gallery Wrap was garnered. The day was spent informing patrons of the works of the artists and the vision of OAaSIS International and introducing them to the newly-developed by Pickney International creative youth club.
People showed much interest in the pieces but expressed that the prices for the items they loved were well above their reach.
On Monday September 26, 2011 the exhibition was met with rave reviews and many patrons showing interest and request was made for another framed print by E. Dain McLeod. The day ended without sales but donations were made by some patrons to the OAaSIS International pan.
On Tuesday September 27, 2011 Ms. Katrina Harley’s jewellery line was added to the exhibition, it was met with rave reviews. The day ended without a sale but patrons made donations to the OAaSIS International pan.
Management and exhibition officer met to strategise on how more sales could be garnered, especially considering the description of bank visitors to that location.
Other projects such as workshops are being looked at.
THe Suite Jamaica gallery project earns money for artists as well as a contribution made to OAaSIS International Foundation projects.
