Art and backgammon at Spanish Court Hotel

Come tomorrow, June 4, an art exhibition of a few great Jamaican artists will be at the Spanish Court Hotel. The exhibition compliments the Coldwell Banker Jamaica Realty-sponsored Backgammon tournament from 10:00 – 07:00p.m..

For the exhibition the following artists are confirmed:
Master Barrington Watson
Michael Parchment
Eugene Campbell
Anthea McGibbon
Prince Dain
Sharon Fox Mould

The works will be for offer, but also as an introduction to the headquarters at Suite # 1, North Block Building 1, 3 South Avenue, Kingston 5.

Last year Mike Hirst won the Backgammon tournament held at Strawberry Field. The tournament is the brainchild of Alastair Macbeath and Christopher Blackwell. Jamaicans see this game combining chess, ludo and checkers and make it the latest pass time. There are big stakes on the game.
Weekly a group led by Macbeath meets to play and the latest venue is at the Medussa bar on Hope Road.
