Okay, so here’s the deal. After reading rich Dad, Poor dad, floods of idea fill my mind. I got to observing Jamaicans keenly moreso as there really has been an overwhelming number of complaints about status.
So being me, and knowing the very wide range of Jamaicans as I do, I started to observe and actually engage in conversations with groups from varied status quo of society.
Interesting and exciting all at once, I began penning these lines, so that others including me CAN LEARN…
Now rich refers to the man who have earned enough to acquire the best in life with ease. He may have struggled along the way to get to this point, but he is at that place nonetheless, so we observe what he does along his path to success, and what he does to maintain himself at that level. We;re talking here about the ‘rich’ Jamaican who is able to smile from within of course, and yes has accomplished above all genuine friends.
Poor Jamaican refers to the one who is always struggling, and no not towards accomplishing anything really. So every dollar he has flies away literally leaving him STUMPED. He never reaches to any place where he can buy or acquire anything materially or otherwise. To comfort himself, he claims money cant buy whats important and sometimes settles for saying love and those who ‘love’ me keeps me happy. Truth is he is unhappy, and simply putting out the best. Always unknown to him is the fact that he doesnt have genuine friends. He cant grasp that its either a mater of misery loving company, or simply the fact that he has no friends who want him to strive away from their state of nonambitious naughtiness or just plain blank space.
Poor Jamaican even sometimes tells others that he deserves this because of earlier actions. Overall he has nothing, and the worse kind who ends up without even the company of other inner miseries to share the place of nothingness with.
Over time, I just might have to add more!
MONEY
Rich Jamaicans: Bank with banks, they invest
POOR JAMAICANS: Every involved with partner, ever going after the biggest spending
SAVING:
Rich Jamaicans: try to go after fixed deposits
Poor Jamaicans: save, but cease opportunities claiming ‘state of emergency’ to dip into savings
BUSINESS PERSONS
Rich Jamaicans: ensure their children learn their business or a skill even if they wont take over the ‘family business or trade in ADDITION to getting a sound education and gaining an entrepreneurial mind
Poor Jamaican: simply disallows their children from learning the trade they have suffered with to raise their children. They work hard to ensure their children have a good education and learn to come out and be employable
SCHOOLING
Rich Jamaican: ensures schooling is theoretical in schools and practical from the streets. Participates in educating child by at least going over books and establishing a back up system at home
Poor Jamaicans: ensures child stays off streets and learns through school only. Hardly ever has time to lay down any home laws and relies heavily on the school system, but allows child a lot of play after school
