Free ‘Fun in the Son’ at Jamaica College

Patrons will get their fill of their favourite gospel artistes for free, and that’s not taking International acts into account. This year’s staging of the Best Dressed Fun In The Son on the grounds of the Jamaica College, Hope Road, has everything any patron could want – most if not all for free.

The event which is in it’s eighth year seeks to celebrate Gospel music and the inspiration it provides, as such, showcasing and spreading the gospel for free, was in order. Next Saturday night’s concert boasts some of the most distinguished local and international Gospel artistes. Namely, this year’s headliner, Kirk Franklin, known for his hits, Stomp, Revolution, Now Behold The Lamb, and more, alongside Papa San, Carlene Davis, Goddy Goddy, DJ Nicholas, Sister Scully, Sons Of The Prophet, J. Lee and others.

According to Christopher Levy, CEO and President of the Jamaica Broilers, “It is about changing lives, transformation, and the winning of lives for Jesus Christ. I believe this year will be different from every other year of Best Dressed Chicken Fun in the Son.”

Fun In The Son is exactly as its name suggests: having fun and celebrating life and love. But, what to do with the kids prior to the concert? Fret not. Families can rest assured that there will be a plethora of fun-filled activities for the kids, ranging from bounce-a-bouts, craft, art and food, which will all be found in what has been dubbed “The Kids Village” and opens at 10 a.m. The rides, food and other activities for the kids will be the only things which attract a small fee at the event.
