Businessman, art collector Wayne Chen gets to visit US again

Businessman Wayne Chen, has been reissued his visa to go to the United States of America (US). Earlier this year, in February, he learnt of the revocation of his visa only at the Norman Manley airport when he turned up to embark on a flight to the US.

An attorney-at-law, Chen is the head of the state-run Urban Development Corporation (UDC) and the Jamaica Employers Federation (JEF). At the time, he insisted that he was not contacted by the US Embassy, as to the revocation or rationale, and efforts to ascertain the reasons were futile.
He since met with the prime minister, and spoke with the head of mission at the US Embassy regarding his dilemna.

A concerned Wayne Chen at the time posted a note on facebook, tagging a few friends. The note however was circulated quicker than his thoughts and wound up in several media. SEE REPORT

“I was at the US Embassy up to February 4, at which time I was looking about a visa for a family member and I presented my own passport and visa and there was no indication at that time that there was any problem with my visa,” an early report in The Gleaner/Power 106 says.

He has plans to travel this weekend.
