Karen Elliot was the only one who took the stage to speak on anything but music or Jagra, at the launch of the Jagra GT Christmas Reggae Extravaganza 2010, but yet with equal or more impact. Her cause is one of the main attractions that pulled artists to commit to performing at the upcoming event, sponsored by J Wray and Nephew.

As a mental health practitioner, Elliot was representing the St Elizabeth Care Committee, a charitable non-governmental organisation which has been taking care of street people in and around Black River since 2004, which will get a part of the proceeds from the show.
The collaborative effort between the Jagra label by J Wray and Nephew, and GT Taylor is slated for the Independence Park in Black River, St Elizabeth, on Christmas Day, under the theme ‘Caring and Sharing Through Music’. It
