Fake Jamaican bailiff in jail, I need my summons

QUESTION: Dear Legal Wiz.

I visited the Sutton Street court and a sweet talking man, who told me he was a bailiff, took my summons to serve. He did not serve the summons as I later found out. I went to the court and learnt that he is in jail for claiming to be a bailiff. I was told he was arrested for claiming to be a bailiff in carrying out an eviction he was not authorised to do. I need my summons served and no one seems to know when he will be out. I need the summons served in time for court.

Thanks for reaching out to the team. It is important that you visit the Court again. Go directly to the customer service agent who sits inside of the actual court building. That person can assist to replace the summons portion that needs to be served.
Meantime you need to track down the actual lock up where the person is, and, speak to the cell warden about retrieving the summons. Hopefully the date has not passed.
