Jamaican street foods everybody loves

Take a walk just about anywhere in Jamaica. The aroma of street foods throughout Kingston streets alone drive you nuts. Let alone the street side shacks in other parishes such as Saint Elizabeth and Saint Ann etc. Your brain get seized, your heart gets arrested and before you know it you’re pulled to a spot you dont usually stop. Next you’re buying something, anything from the ‘foodie’ of the streets. It’s one way to go eating or snacking in Jamaica especially when youre on a budget of say $100, $500 and in some cases $1000 for bigger deals.
Not that restaurants and food shops do not offer something special, but the pull of a food street vendor in Jamaica is a unique experience that makes you connect with Jamaicans somehow. Some of the crowd favourites topping the most sought out are are saltfish fritters, fried dumpling and chocolate tea, friend dumpling and saltfish, jerk chicken, jerk pork. Then depending on where you are you can always find a porridge man or a soup man.
Crabs are also common, but there are sufficient skeptics nail their warnings in.
Best advice: Always make sure there is water nearby where you can be assured at least that vendor washes up.
