QUESTION: Dear Jamaican Herbalist,
A pleasant evening to you. I want to get pregnant but its not happening. I cry daily. I went to the doctor who recommend I do some tests, which says I am not ovulating. He prescribed climid, at least I think that’s what the name is. I have taken two sets already and have a third set to take but I decide not to. So I boil dog blood, guinea hen weed and vervine which I drank for seven days. I believe my period is now stabilized. As I am seeing my period now I plan to drink more because I plan to get pregnant now (may 2014).
Necolai
RESPONSE: Dear Necolai,
What you are doing is dangerous. When you come off prescribed medication, there is a procedure especially if you are going to turn to herbs. Remember herbs contain toxins that must be released before you can take the herb. There is also a certain time to take the herbs, and of course one should be careful about boiling herbs together for many reasons.
Nonetheless you have said your period is stabalised. That may be a temporary improvement and you can be causing other damages. So please get proper consultation if what you really want to do is get pregnant. bear in mind that taking some of these herbs too often can lead to hemorrhaging.
