Killamanjaro reloads for RESET Monday, April 9

Kingston, Jamaica — March 28, 2012 — Notorious sound system Killamanjaro is reloading its dub plate stock returning to clash at Irish and Chin’s World Clash Jamaica R.E.S.E.T. on Easter Monday, April 9th in Montego Bay at Pier One. They hope to make a triumphant return to the stage where they last competed in 2003 (Death Before Dishonor 3). Killamanjaro’s absence from the World Clash stage has lasted almost a decade. Always credited for stellar performances, the sound thoroughly satisfied their fans with thrilling victories as 2x holders of World Clash trophies in New York (1998, 2000).

The ever-so-reputable Killamanjaro sound has launched the careers of many musical personalities, artists included, with two of their most popular selectors Freddy and Ricky Trooper later making solo debuts on the World Clash Jamaica stage. Killamanjaro has remained dominant throughout its 40 years and thus is a relevant participant for this event, which is also a 15th anniversary celebration for promoters Irish and Chin.

Killamanjaro’s owner Noel “Papa Jaro” Harper says “I am looking forward to returning to World Clash Jamaica, after a lot of encouragement from Irish and Chin. Our fans who remember Killamanjaro’s high caliber performances of the past at World Clash can expect that and more when we return on Easter Monday, April 9.”

Promoter Garfield ‘Chin’ Bourne of Irish and Chin adds, “Jaro’s return is long overdue, and the thousands expected for World Clash Jamaica R.E.S.E.T. will be feted to a 5 hour musically charged diet of ingenious dub selections, witty 45 rotations and fiery verbal slogans, hence promising to be a sound clash/Dancehall treat not to be missed!”

On Easter Monday, thousands are expected to flock to Pier One to take in World Clash Jamaica, which has had a longstanding legacy and undeniable impact on Jamaica’s sound clash culture. World Clash Jamaica grew from its humble beginnings in Trelawny more than a decade ago to become one of the country’s most successfully attended and promoted clash events. For one night only, clash fans will experience the best in clash entertainment as Irish and Chin celebrates their milestone 15th Anniversary with their signature branded event.
