Counting denominations of christianity in Jamaica?

In a country as small as Jamaica, there are quite a number of religions. More interesting is the fact that there exists over 400 denominations of Christianity alone.

SALVATION through the man called Jesus Christ, is the main foundation of the christian faith.
The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines a church as: 1. a building used for public Christian worship, and, 2. a particular Christian organisation with its own distinctive doctrines.
A denomination is a recognised autonomous branch of a church or religion

It’s anyone’s guess therefore why over 500 denominations of Christianity exists in a country as small as Jamaica.
