Honouring Jamaican greats before death

Not that death is wished on anyone. .. But more Jamaicans need to get this business of paying respects right – a method for progress – YOU THINK!

Arnold Foote Snr

Too many young persons are lacking connectivity to the aged, especially those that could well direct them into a path of success.
Just think about it – if you knew what was the result of a wrongful decision, would you take it. So why not pay respects by listening more to some of the refined, and I do underline refine , elders.
Listen up Ms Lou, Bob Marley are just a few creative greats that deserved more when they were alive for the paths they carved for us. Why even Professor Rex Nettleford coined a word in the Oxford dictionary while Ms Lou, Louise Bennett made us proud to speak, chat walk Patois.
So kudos on this Heroes Day, and all Heroes Day as awards are being presented everywhere. Physical awards sometimes dont seem much if not a house, land, or millions of dollars. ah well – the thought is a start.
So to those who appreciate, and tick from the long list growing every year those up for and should be up for awards on Heroes Day — Fare thee well.
Those who cant give big gifts, nor claim a national one – a simple ttenk yuh in Jamaican tongue wont hurt!
