QUESTION:
Dear Anthea,
I have been following your site and articles such as on Jamaican herbs have been very useful. The thing is I personally have been trying to get pregnant and I heard that women in Jamaica have ‘bushes’ that they use to produce eggs, and progesterone etc. Can you help me?
Mara
RESPONSE:Dear Mara,
First of all, you should be aware that infertility comes about from a number of reasons. Herbs are not quick fixes. Please remember that the information we pass on comes from herbalists who study herbs, and assist others based on research and experience, but who are not medical doctors. Also do remember that herbs commonly called ‘bushes’ produce toxins so it is wise to consult a trained medical doctor, especially if you have been prescribed something.
After speaking with the herbalist here are herbs they recommend, but of course you can write in and get more details on dosages. Always remember to take these herbs no longer than two weeks at maximum at a time though. Here are some recommended by herbalists:
dog blood bush
wild yam
