For the National Visual Arts Competition and Exhibition 2010 entries are now being accepted.
The JCDC and the National Gallery of Jamaica (NGJ) will again be staging this annual contest, which is scheduled to open at the NGJ on July 18 and will be followed by a travelling showcase of medal-winning works to the Parish capitals of St. Mary, St. James and Manchester.
The National Visual Arts Competition and Exhibition 2010 has youth and adult sections and accommodates work in the field of painting, work of paper, sculpture & assemblage, photography, video art, ceramics and fibre arts. Works accepted by the jury are eligible for medals, certificates of merit and sectional awards.
The deadline for submissions is May 14, 2010. In Kingston and St Andrew, submission should be brought to the NGJ and in the other Parishes, to the relevant JCDC Parish Office. At the NGJ, works will only be accepted between May 10 and 14, between 10 am and 4 pm.
