Multi-talented actor/singer and songwriter Peter Lloyd has begun a mission to make ‘YUTES RISE.’ His inspiration according to his PR manager Raymond “Shadow” Small, is to raise children with virtue and respect so that we can build a better nation for all. After all for Lloyd, children are our future.
YUTES RISE, the brainchild of Lloyd is an upliftment programme aimed at injecting positive influences among the Jamaican youths while helping to mold future leaders. On Friday, Peter Lloyd accompanied by members of his management team had the first installment of the project at the Newell High School in St. Elizabeth. From the moment students found out he was on the compound, they were excited.
After delivering a scintillating performance interspersed with positive messages of encouragement, Lloyd had to be rushed off stage by security personnel and kept in the teachers quarters away from the hoards to screaming young girls who would stop at nothing to get a glimpse of the entertainer. Following a hour long photo opt and autograph session with teachers and members of the student body, Lloyd was finally permitted to depart the campus.
According to Peter “It was a great experience and it’s always better when you not just entertain, but impart knowledge, that makes your effort even more rewarding, with that said I would like to thank everyone who played an integral role in this project”.
Meanwhile since the completion of the first leg of the tour the feedback from Corporate entities looking to come on board.
Peter Lloyd who last week released ‘Mood 4 Luv’, his second single for the year, is happy that his single ‘Searching’ after spending thirteen (13) weeks on the chart has finally clinched the No.1 spot on the New York Top 30 Reggae Charts after nabbing a similar position on the South Florida Reggae Charts two weeks earlier.
