Fethi Tabet in concert March 22 in Jamaica



The Alliance française de la Jamaïque, in association with JNBS, presents the first ever concert in Jamaica by Algerian-born singer and instrumentalist, Fethi Tabet. This concert by Tabet who has performed the world over, from India to China, with stops in Africa, America and the Middle East, will take place on Thursday, March 22, 2012 starting at 8 p.m. at the Courtleigh Auditorium.
This musical master delivers a message of peace and fraternity, through his powerful voice and instruments, captivating audiences and delivering magical performances in his own exceptional style.
His music is a unique blend of a hot Andalusian-style dance music, influenced by the sounds of various destinations, such as South America, Africa and the Sub-Saharan Africa. His group reflects the diversity of his music with members having French, Tunisian, Cameroonian, Malian and Brazilian backgrounds.
This cultural event is organised by the Alliance Française de la Jamaïque with sponsorship from The Jamaica National Building Society, TOTAL, Chez Maria, the Mayfair Hotel and The Courtleigh Auditorium. This concert is in an effort to promote the French language and Francophone culture in Jamaica, one of the principal missions of the Alliance française.
Fethi Tabet’s concert falls fittingly within the International week of the French language and the Francophonie1 (March 17-25).
Tickets cost $2000 general public; $1500 members and students of the Alliance française.
Tickets will be on sale at the Alliance française de la Jamaïque, 12b Lilford Ave, Kingston 10 and at Rêve Jewellery & Accessories, Shop 14, Devon House.
