QUESTION: Dear Jamaica Legal Wiz,
I saw a Jamaica sanmple power of attorney document on this site. Do you have an updated one. I know it is a basic one, but I followed it for my case in Court as I did not have the money to pay an attorney and it worked just fine. I was very grateful actually that your team shared it. Do you accept donations?

Dear Miriam,
Please see below and download the latest version of the Jamaica sample power of attorney document prepared in May 2017. Please understand it is meant as a sample, and so minor amendments and adjustments may be necessary for your basic situations – for which it gives guidelines.

Therefore for technical circumstances such as bank transactions, probating wills, title offices or TRN and even certain court experiences etc you may need to rely on expert and experienced opinions as the document may need to be tailored for each individual scenario.
