The Jamaican Diaspora and I: On voting

THE DIASPORA AND I again: Needless to say a Diaspora member is harping that if its left to the Diaspora, JLP wont ever be voted in again. My first thought is if you dont live here and get first hand experience– how in the world CAN you dictate?? Hmmm TRUTH is the solution is not to curse the same old problem children and highlight the same issues as your arguments become stale and insignificant as the persons you shoot arrows at, be it JLP, PNP, NDM, Rastas… FRESH IDEAS, CRITICAL THOUGHT before ACTION… EXAMPLE: Why isnt a ticket cancelled when the person fixes their backlight, if they take the evidence to the nearest police station AS is done in FIRST WORLD countries.. Why dont they collect more monies from other listed traffic offences.. So obviously the powers that be take it upon themselves to impose a fine for a broken or blown backlight that can be a major problem.. but do so irrationally.. IF you wish to adopt another man’s habits learn why he does them, how he does them, and the purpose first.. dont you think.. NOW speaking of taxes.. an entire different fish, but same principle.. glory in collecting taxes.. but appropriate them properly for the greater good and in a meaningful way that encourages us the dumb and ignorant to PAY UP. Otherwise its all a MOCKERY!
