In Jamaica, some persons refer to advocados as pear. They are both from the same family.
Precious little is known among Jamaicans about this family, but those who know use the tree in many ways:
Advocado tree bark or the leaves are used to make tea. This tea is excellent for colds,cough, asthma and high blood pressure. When heated these same leaves are applied to relieve headaches
Advocado tree leather branches are boiled and used for diarrhea, hypertension and pain.
A GOOD RAT POISON
Avocado seeds contain antibiotic substances that will kill rats when mixed with cheese.
