They want to kick my mom from house she built and the land

QUESTION: Dear Legal Wiz,

My mom is being taken to Court by persons who claimed they bought the house she lives in. She and my dad has been living on that property since I was a baby, and now I am 48 years old. My dad had a lifetime lease, but he is dead. Can she be kicked off?

RESPONSE: Dear Shawna,
When a person dies, the lease ends generally speaking. In your case if your mom is taken to Court she should get an attorney to assist her in seeking compensation for the house she built.
