Legal lingua: Power of Attorney

Get it right about the term “power of attorney.”

It is not the person who is a power of attorney, and it is not the job that is labelled as power of attorney. Power of attorney is an instrument created as a document recording/ outlining the gifted powers ie powers the donor bestows upon the donee who stands in his place…

With the document the donee, or the person who is appointed or gifted with the powers therefore is lawfully relied upon to carry out legal transactions on behalf of the person who made the appointment or gave the powers.
