Gran Bahia Principe houses Jamaican art

Some Jamaicans may view the increasing number of large Spanish hotels being built in the tourists resorts as evidence of modern day piracy, but at the Gran Bahia Principe hotel, the management seeks to partner with Jamaica creative minds in making their tourism package unique.
At their Runaway Bay, Jamaica location, general manager Miguel Cano recently met with Anthea McGibbon, to offer her a home for the Suite Jamaica Gallery providing opportunity to promote and sell works by artists, artistes, and artisans.
Resident Manager Carlos Luengas and assistant to the general manager Vanessa Bryan were also present at the meeting.

CEO of the hotel, Pablo Pinero, is a world-reknowned art collector himself with high appreciation for Jamaican art. The hotel has an over-three-year-old relationship with relationship Anthea, who works with numerous Jamaican artists as a journalist, an artist and more herself. The proposal was first made to her by former general manager Geert Debruyne who now manages Mexican operations.
The Suite Jamaica gallery travels hotels to indulge international guests in Jamaica arts, culture especially visual arts. The entity is not-for-profit but participating artists agree to give part of their proceeds to art-related projects for developing the creative minds of Jamaica
